
Debbie D. Logsdon
SPEEA Area VP
Born and raised in Wichita Kansas, Debbie currently works in Operations Computing at Boeing, having worked at Boeing overall for 23 years. Prior to Boeing, she worked at Beech Aircraft for three years, and attended college at Wichita State University majoring in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations.
One of the main reasons Debbie got involved with the union was due to insurance issues. The company was slashing employees’ benefits and making them pay for insurance when employees covered by a contract was not faced with this issue.
Currently, Debbie is the Midwest SPEEA Chair, assisting in bringing the SPEEA Wichita Technical and Professional Unit (WTPU) into the IFPTE. She started out working in the union as a Council Representative (Shop Steward).
Debbie chairs the SPEEA WTPU and SPEEA Legislative/Public Affairs Committees; she also is co-chair of SPEEA Membership Activities. She was also a SPEEA delegate to the Council of Engineering Scientist Organization (CESO), a member of the SPEEA Midwest Finance committee, Midwest SPEEA AFL-CIO Central States delegate, sat on the Employees Community Fund Board for two years, was the Board’s president in 2000, and was voted SPEEA Outstanding Activist of 2003.
Debbie is married to Don, with two children, Lucy (15) and James Morris (19). |
