
Charlie Trembley
Northeastern Area VP
Charles Trembley, vice president of Local 147, was selected to fill the vacant position of Northeast Area Vice President for the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE).
Trembley brings a wealth of experience to this position. He began his employment at the General Electric (GE) Company and his membership with Local 147 in 1991. Within that same year, he progressed to Shop Steward, and then to Chief Steward in 1993.
In 1995, Trembley assumed the positions of vice president of Local 147 as well as Chief Officer (president) of the Local's unit at KAPL (Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory) at Lockheed. He has been involved with the GE Coordinated Bargaining Committee since 1994, and has been the Lead Negotiator for Lockheed and the Local since 1998.
Trembley has been a delegate at IFPTE's Triennial Conventions since 1994, has been a participant in several labor management courses at the George Meany Center for Labor Studies, and was Secretary-Treasurer of the Northeast Council for three years (2000-2003) until being elected President in 2003.
Trembley is married to Lisa, and has two daughters, 12 and 7. |
