~CALL TO ORDER

~PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG OF THE U.S.

~MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS ARE NOW BEING PLACED ON THE WEBSITE.  ONLY A FEW COPIES WILL BE PASSED OUT AT MEETINGS FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE WEBSITE.

~INITIATION/ACCEPTANCE OF NEW MEMBERS, DAMICO DEAR, NSWCCD, JOHN ALAN METZER.

 

REPORT OF OFFICERS, STANDING AND SPECIAL COMMITTES

 

~EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING -PRES. GALLAGER, MONEY ISSUES.

1.     DONATION OF $100.00 MADE TO BODINE CANCER CENTER AT THOMAS JEFFERSON UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL ON THE BEHALF OF SUSAN GIRER MCQUIGGAN, WHO DIED MAY 2, 2002.  SHE WAS THE SISTER OF LEE GIRER.

2.     PRES. GALLAGER FELT HE SHOULD BE COMPENSATED FOR THE 2 1/2 DAYS HE WORKED WITHOUT PAY ON THE FLSA CASE & ADR. 20 HOURS @ $32.20 = $644.00

3.     VP JOHN GARRITY SAID IT ALSO COST HIM $100.00 TO GIVE HIS SERVICES @ $25.00 PER HOUR.

4.     $65.00 FOR FOOD DURING THESE MEETINGS. FLSA & ADR

5.     FLOWERS WERE SENT TO DOC, AT DOC'S UNION PUB.  HIS WIFE DIED. ERNIE SCHLEMBACK GIVEN CHECK $25.00 FOR FLOWERS.

6.     TWO LOCAL 3 JACKETS WILL BE GIVEN TO THE TWO OFFICERS FROM LOCAL 4 WHO CAME DOWN TO HELP WITH THE FLSA CASE. $80.00 PLUS SHIPPING. EVP LENNY ANDALIS WILL HANDLE THIS.

7.     EDNA BAILEY WILL HAVE TO CONVERT THE MONIES INTO MONEY ORDER TO MAIL TO LEAP PACK.  THIS WILL BE COMPLETED BEFORE NEXT MEETING.

 

~TREASURES REPORT READ ALOUD BY EDNA BAILEY, ACCEPTED AS READ.

~MEMBERSHIP, WELFARE OR SPECIAL COMMITTEES - NO REPORT

~UNION CONTRACT IS 95% COMPLETED, SUBMITT BY FALL.

 

UNIFINISHED BUSINESS:  LABOR - MANAGEMENT ISSUES

 

1.     GRIEVANCES, 3 PENDING.  2.  ADR, ONE ALTERNATE DISPUTE RESOLUTION IN PROCESS.

 

3. FLSA ISSUE: NAVSSES GIREVANCE SUBMITTED ON 29 JAN 2002.  NEGOTIATION IN PROCCESS.  A SETTLEMENT HAS BEEN PROPOSED AND FINAL NEGOTIATIONS ARE IN PROCESS TO COMPLETE THE FINAL COMPONENT OF THE SETTLEMENT.  (THIS ISSUE WAS DISCUSS AT LENGTH AND OPENLY BY THE BODY.)

 

4.     NAVSSES ACCRETION OF DUTY GRIEVANCE.  NEGOTIATIONS ARE ON GOING, POTENTIAL SETTLEMENT IN PROCESS, HOWEVER LOCAL 3 IS PREPARED TO TAKE ALL 40 GRIEVANCES TO ARBITRATION IF NECESSARY.

 

5.     LOCAL 3 MET WITH L/R ON 11APR REGARDING CODE 80'S EXCESS EMPLOYEES AND DRESS CODES.  LR PROMISED TO RAISE THESE ISSUES TO DON COLLINS AND REPORT BACK TO US.

 

6.     PWC IS PRESENTLY SUSPENDED. LOCAL 3 SUSPENDED ALL RIF ACTIONS UNTIL WE CAN COMPLETE NEGOTIATIONS.

 

7.     IT'S IMPORTANT FOR ALL STEWARDS TO BECOME ACTIVE IN REPRESENTING THEIR BARGAINING MEMBERS BY TAKING THE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO SEEK REMEDIES.  IF A GRIEVANCE NEEDS TO BE FILED, FILE IT.  WE CAN'T WAIT OR PUT ISSUES OFF.  WE LOSE BY WAITING.

8.     NEW JERSEY UPDATE - SAM KUNCEVICH

 

NEW BUSINESS - PRES MET WITH CON. ROB ANDREWS MAY 3RD, DISCUSSED SOME ISSUES.
