IFPTE Files Petition to Represent Employees of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC)

IFPTE files a petition to represent employees of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC). The majority of PBGC’s employees are seeking union representation by the IFPTE.  These employees face an increasing work load as the nation’s pensions suffer under the strain of the present economic crisis.  See 2008 Leaves Pensions Under Funded, Washington Post, January 8, 2009.

They look to IFPTE, a Union with a track record for supporting professionals in the workplace, to assist them in maintaining working conditions that facilitate the performance of the PBGC’s critical mission during these difficult times.  It is hoped that the representation election will be held within the next several weeks, allowing the employees to address their concerns collectively with PBGC management.
