IFPTE's 2016 Dominick D. Critelli, Jr. Scholarship Award Winners
IFPTE is honored to announce the winners of the 2016 Dominick D. Critelli, Jr. Scholarship Awards Program. From the many remarkable applicants, four $2,500 scholarships were awarded to children and/or grandchildren of IFPTE members in the Public, Private, Federal and Canadian sectors.
Scholarship applicants were judged on academic achievement, school and community activities, and on an essay entitled “What Being a Member of a Union Family Means to Me.” We proudly present the 2016 Dominick D. Critelli, Jr. Scholarship Award winners.
Kiah Sawchuk has earned the scholarship award for IFPTE’s Canadian Sector. Her father, Dale Sawchuk, is a member of TEAM/IFPTE Local 161. Kiah will attend the Aveda Institute in Winnipeg in the fall. Read her essay >
Christina Paoletti earned the scholarship award for IFPTE’s Private Sector. The daughter of SPEEA/Local 2001 member Aleyamma C. Paoletti, Christina will attend Washington State University this fall. Read her essay >
Mark Williams Laforest earned the scholarship award for IFPTE’s Federal Sector. His mother, Brigitte Laforest, is a member of NAIJ/Judicial Council #2 (Immigration judges). Mark will attend Rice University in Houston, TX in the fall. Read his essay >
Jasmine Gregory earned the scholarship award for IFPTE’s Public Sector. The daughter of Local 21 member John Gregory, Jasmine will attend the University of California, Berkeley. Jasmine is also the recipient of a $4,000 Union Plus Scholarship. Read her essay >
Applications for the 2017 Dominick D. Critelli, Jr. scholarships will be available online December 2016.
