Are you familiar with cybermisogyny? This is your opportunity to learn more about it. The IFPTE Women’s Solidarity Network (WSN) is spotlighting an upcoming online presentation on June 17 at 5:30 EDT hosted by the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF) and YWCA Canada on cybermisogyny and COVID-19.

This discussion will explore how the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the reach and harms of cybermisogyny by focusing on the following:

  • How have physical distancing measures during the pandemic heightened the existing root causes of cybermisogyny?
  • How are online platforms regulated? What are the gaps in how online platforms are regulated, from a substantive equality perspective?
  • What does an equitable digital space look like and how can we work towards achieving it?
