EA/IFPTE Local 1937 Holds Annual Training Conference

Over 100 members of the Engineering Association (EA/IFPTE Local 1937) participated in the Localís annual training conference this week in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The conference, chaired by Gay Henson (President of EA/IFPTE Local 1937 and IFPTE Eastern Federal Area Vice President), provided training workshops on grievance handling, goal setting and internal member recruitment. Conference attendees who are employed by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) also heard from keynote speaker Mike Skaggs, TVAís Executive Vice President, about his future vision for the TVA and the continuation of the productive working relationship between TVA and the EA well into the future.

IFPTE staff ran workshops and provided a detailed legislative training session that highlighted past and future issues before Congress impacting the Localís membership. One of the highlights of the conference included the awarding of the 2017 Charlie Rollins Scholarship to Nolan Smith, who is the son of EA/Local 1937 member, Nathan Smith.

Congratulations on a successful conference!
