Federal Employees Still Being Targeted
As Congress returns for 2012, lawmakers are continuing to target additional year(s) of pay freeze, cuts to retirement and arbitrary cuts to the size of the workforce.
The first opportunity to attempt these measures will be as a part of extending the payroll tax holiday/UI Insurance extension/Medicare Doctor’s fix for the last ten months of 2012.
IFPTE was one of 29 organizations that added its name to a letter this week to all congressional conferees urging them to resist any more federal workers cuts.
