Hundreds Attend Day of Action Rally

Hundreds Attend Day of Action Rally

On Tuesday, September 24, IFPTE, along with AFGE, NFFE and NTEU, hosted a rally at the Capitol protesting the Trump Administration’s efforts to undermine federal employee unions. Several other unions including AFSCME, NALC, IBEW, AFA, IUPAT and the AFL-CIO rallied alongside us to show their solidarity.

Under the tag ‘Fed Up? Rise Up!’, hundreds of union members descended on the Capitol to show legislators that we are Fed Up with baseless attacks on American workers, Fed Up with retaliation against whistleblowers, Fed Up with bad-faith bargaining at the negotiating table, and Fed Up with the profit-over-people mentality of this anti-worker administration.

Many legislators showed their support including Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi; Senate Minority Leader, Chuck Schumer; Senators Chris Van Hollen (MD), Sherron Brown (OH), and Mazie Hirono (HI), and Representatives Jan Schakowsky (IL), Jamie Raskin (MD), Don Beyer (VA), Mark Takano (CA), and Gerry Connolly (MD).

Along with IFPTE President Shearon, Trysh Moton, Area Vice President for GESTA/IFPTE Local 29 and a Senior Aerospace Engineer at Goddard Space Flight Center, spoke on behalf of IFPTE. Both stated the importance of fighting for our rights and standing up to the attacks against all workers. View rally photos.

We must to continue this fight because the DC Circuit Court of Appeals denied the petition for rehearing the case regarding the Trump Administration’s executive orders, meaning the injunction will be lifted and the executive orders implemented.
