IFPTE Canadian Area Locals Hold Their Semi-Annual Meeting in Toronto

This week Locals 160, 161, 162 and 164 held their semi-annual IFPTE Council of Canadian Locals (CCL) meeting in Toronto. Among the items discussed were updates on current and future organizing campaigns, upcoming changes to labor legislation, young member engagement and preparation for the IFPTE Convention next year. In addition, the CCL is excited about a new project, lead by Local 160 in collaboration with the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, focusing on precarity among professionals which will be rolled out in 2018. Among those in attendance were Canadian Area Vice Presidents Scott Travers and Misty Hughes-Newman, and Paul Shearon, IFPTE's Secretary-Treasurer.
