IFPTE Council of Canadian Locals Semi-Annual Meeting

The IFPTE Council of Canadian Locals (CCL) met earlier this week. The group, which is made up of all the IFPTE Locals in Canada, meet semi-annually to share information, discuss pertinent issues facing IFPTE members in Canada, and how the Council should respond.

At this meeting, Alejandra Bravo, Director of Leadership & Training, from the Broadbent Institute was invited to join the meeting to facilitate a group discussion on developing a policy platform. CCL was also fortunate to have Trish Hennessy, Director of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternativesí Ontario office, and Emily Norgang, Senior Researcher for the Canadian Labour Congress participate in the meeting.

The Council has commissioned a position paper on precarity of professional work which affects all Unions represented and will form the foundation of a group effort to address the issue.
