IFPTE Joins Federal-Postal Coalition Effort to Protect Federal Employee Compensation and Benefits

IFPTE joins Federal/Postal Coalition effort to protect federal employee compensation and benefits.

IFPTE was one of thirty-one organizations that signed a letter to House and Senate budget leaders urging them to forgo any more cuts to federal employee pay, pensions, healthcare and other benefits.

The letter was sent during a time when both the Senate and House budget committees are reportedly working on their respective budget proposals. The letter reminded lawmakers that federal workers, “were the first to contribute when the nation was facing economic challenge,” and, “should not be forced to sacrifice even more.” The Hill action on the budget follows the release last month of the Trump Administration budget, which included steep cuts to federal employee pensions, among other damaging proposals.
