IFPTE LEAD Training Focuses on Fundamentals

IFPTE LEAD Training Focuses on Fundamentals

More than fifty IFPTE members from the private, public and federal sectors attended IFPTE’s two-day training session last week in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Participants heard presentations ranging from grievance and ULP handling to membership communications to building effective leverage. In addition to presentations from IFPTE President Greg Junemann, IFPTE Secretary-Treasurer Paul Shearon, and IFPTE staff, participants also heard from AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka. Trumka discussed the importance of union training, calling it, “an opportunity to problem solve, bounce ideas off of each other and hone our craft.”

The group also received training on conducting audits in small Locals, responsibilities of the Local’s executive board, as well as a presentation from the Federal Labor Relations Authority (FLRA). View some of the training documents below; view President Trumka’s remarks here.
