IFPTE Local 12 Joins the IFPTE LEAP-PAC Effort

This week in Bremerton, Washington, members of IFPTE Local 12 met with and heard a presentation from IFPTE national legislative staff regarding the importance of participating in and supporting the IFPTE PAC.

The event, which was organized by Local 12’s Kurt Nordberg and John Bernstein, focused on supporting candidates for national office based on issues of importance to Local 12 members, and not political party affiliation. Among the major issues discussed were the federal employee pay raise, federal pensions, restoring per diems, and guarding against privatization of shipyard jobs.

The event was also attended by SPEEA/IFPTE Local 2001 representatives, who participated not only in a show of solidarity, but also to share SPEEA’s experience of how an effective PAC can result in a better legislative program. Thanks Local 12 for leading the way on the LEAP PAC!
