IFPTE Locals Participate in National SFLRP Conference

Last week, IFPTE member and leaders from Locals 1 and 121 travelled to Washington to participate in the Society of Federal Labor Relations Professionals' (SFLRP) annual national conference.

The conference provided federal labor relations training for labor union officials, human resource managers, mediators and others. Conference attendees also participated in workshops focusing on the legislative landscape in Congress for federal employees, particularly as it relates to official time, collective bargaining, federal agency budgets, and federal worker compensation and benefits.

IFPTE President Junemann provided the keynote address (see text below) while <IFPTE legislative staff organized and presented the legislative portion of the conference.

SFLRP was originally established in 1973 and is composed of professionals engaged in federal labor-management relations in all three segments: management, organized labor, and neutrals. Former and retired IFPTE Local 1 President Ed Cahoon serves on the SFLRP national board.
