IFPTE Mourns Loss of Longtime Labour Activist and Former WAPSO Staff Bill Comstock

IFPTE is sad to report that former WAPSO/IFPTE Local 162 staff member, Bill Comstock, passed away on Sunday, June 2nd. IFPTE joins WAPSO in honouring Bill's long career and contributions to the labour movement as a member of the WAPSO and IFPTE families from 2006-2014 and again in 2018, and as a labour activist for many years before his work at WAPSO.

Much of Billís career was focused on workerís rights, as evidenced by his work with the Institutional Employees Union (IEU), the Manitoba Government Employees Unions (MGEU) and WAPSO. After retiring in 2006 from the role of MGEU Director of Negotiating Services, he joined WAPSO as Labour Relations Specialist.

In his honour, the WAPSO Board has renamed the Local's annual scholarship the William S. Comstock Scholarship in recognition of his many years of dedicated service to WAPSO and his commitment to the Labour movement in Manitoba. IFPTE sends our deepest condolences to the Comstock and WAPSO families. Learn more about Bob.
