IFPTE Opposes David Black for Deputy Commissioner of Social Security
Senate to vote this week on the Black nomination

WASHINGTON, DC International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE) President, Paul Shearon, released the following statement in opposition to David Black for Deputy Commissioner at the Social Security Administration:

"In his long running senior position at SSA, Mr. Black has helped to create a labor relations climate at the agency that is as negative towards its workforce as any in the federal government. He has also attempted to frustrate the ability of Congress to improve this situation. For these, and many other reasons, IFPTE opposes this nomination."

IFPTE is a labor union representing upwards of 90,000 workers in the private, public and federal sectors.
