IFPTE Remembers The Victims of Sandy Hook, Including IFPTE Local 136-13 Member Anne Marie Murphy

Today, December 14th, is the six-year anniversary of the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, in which 26 people were killed. Among the victims, which included young children and their educators, was IFPTE Local 136-13 member, Anne Marie Murphy, who was a paraeducator at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

IFPTE President, Paul Shearon, and Secretary-Treasurer, Matt Biggs, issued the following statement on behalf of the entire IFPTE family: “Today is one of the saddest days in the history of our union, as our Union Sister, Anne Marie Murphy, many of her young students and her colleagues were tragically killed during the school day at Sandy Hook Elementary School. While the years will continue to pass, IFPTE will not soon forget these heroic victims and their families, and continues to send out our condolences.”
