IFPTE Veterans Committee Holds Its Fall/Winter Meeting

This week the IFPTE Veterans Committee held its biannual conference to discuss Veterans related matters impacting IFPTE members.

The call, chaired by Veterans Committee Chair/IFPTE Local 195 President Tim Rudolph, focused on several legislative matters before Congress, including legislation in the House to grant women Veterans better access to VA health facilities, concurrent receipt of Veterans benefits, and closing the TRICARE loophole that disallows Veterans from receiving TRICARE benefits while participating in a Health Savings Account (HAS).

AFL-CIO Union Veterans Council Executive Director, Will Attig, and AFL-CIO Legislative Rep, Byron Charlton, also provided reports during the call. The next Veterans Committee call will occur in May. To see the full Veterans Committee call report, click here.
