Junemann to Address CLUW Convention

The 19th Biennial Convention of the Coalition of Labor Union Women will be held at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center on September 6-9, 2017. The theme for the convention is “WOMEN: Taking It To The Streets!” The theme and timing of the convention could not be more appropriate with the attacks on women, workers, and unions.

Prior to the opening of the convention, there will be a full day of a wide variety of workshops on Wednesday, September 6th. IFPTE President Gregory Junemann will be among the dynamic speakers invited to address the convention that will also include a street action. Young women workers will be a focus of the convention. Unions are being encouraged to have at least one young woman (under the age of 35) attend the Young Women Workers Committee meeting and convention in Detroit.

This convention, which will include election of National Officers and Union delegates to the National Executive Board, is a member convention. To participate in the convention with a voice and vote all you need to be is a Regular National CLUW member in good standing on July 24, 2017. Please note that observers are welcome to attend the convention and fully participate in all activities. However, they will be required to pay the appropriate registration fee and will be seated in a special section in the convention hall as they will not be able to have voice or vote.
