Local 121 Recognizes May Day by Participating in Hawaii's Workers March

On May 1st, members of IFPTE Local 121 joined hand in hand with 21 other Local unions by taking part in the annual Hawaii Workers March.

The march was intended to stand in solidarity with millions of workers across the globe who participated in similar marchers for workers’ rights and justice, and to bring attention to attacks on workers and collective bargaining rights in Hawaii, and across the United States.

IFPTE Local 121 President/Hawaii AFL-CIO Vice President Jamie Hiranaka commented that, “while it is important for Local 121 and all of IFPTE to stand in solidarity with workers everywhere, it is especially critical to us now given the attacks being promulgated by the current Congress against federal workers here in Hawaii and throughout the nation. Local 121 is proud to have participated in this march and will continue to do so when given the opportunity.”
