SPEEA Leadership Conference Focuses on the Power of Solidarity

Upwards of 150 SPEEA activists and labor guests took part in the SPEEA Leadership Conference on June 8th in Seattle. The conference, themed 'TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More', provided training opportunities for Council Reps to better serve in their role as workplace union liaisons.

Highlights of the conference included guest speakers Bill Spriggs, Ph.D., AFL-CIO chief economist, and Paul Shearon, IFPTE President and former SPEEA director of organizing; discussions with Boeing workers in Seal Beach, California currently taking part in SPEEA’s organizing drive; and workshops focused on legislative action, grievance handling, labor history, and organizing.
