SPEEA Saves Supply Chain Jobs
Concurrent to the outsourcing discussions, SPEEA and Spirit agreed to modify and enhance the medical plan options available to SPEEA-represented employees. The modifications added Management and Salaried (M&S) health care plan options and removed the current HealthSaver medical plan. The medical plan changes apply to employees in the Wichita Technical and Professional Unit (WTPU) and the Wichita Engineering Unit (WEU) contracts.
The outsourcing and medical modifications are contained in a Letter of Understanding (LOU) agreed and signed by SPEEA and Spirit. The LOU remains in effect for the duration of the contracts.
SPEEA Benefits Director Matt Kempf will present the new medical plan options along with the current Core and Enhanced medical plans before the April 25 to May 5 open enrollment.
