The theme of the event, which also doubled as The Society’s convention, was “An Eye Toward the Future”, and included several training seminars and workshops geared toward grassroots membership engagement and representation. Society council members also heard from several speakers, including Ontario Members of Provincial Parliament (MPP) Sarah Singh and Doly Begum, Toronto Labor Council President, John Cartwright, and IFPTE President Paul Shearon and Secretary-Treasurer Matt Biggs, who discussed subjects ranging from the importance of growing union strength through organizing to the necessity of being legislatively and politically active on issues of importance to Society members.
