IFPTE Endorses Noel Frame for Washington State Senate District 36

Statement by IFPTE International President Matt Biggs and IFPTE Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

As the executive officers of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers, a labor union representing more than 90,000 members throughout North America, we heartily endorse Noel Frame for Washington State Senate for the 36th District.

Rep. Frame has served in the state House of Representatives since 2016 and has proven herself a champion for a fair economy that works for working families across Washington. As Chair of the House Finance Committee, she has sponsored legislation to provide fair tax policies and corporate accountability. Rep. Frame has worked closely with unions in the state, including SPEEA-IFPTE Local 2001, to make sure state government incentives for aerospace industry employers are linked to creating and retaining good paying jobs in Washington.

IFPTE members who live and work in the 36th District and in neighboring districts in Seattle work at the Boeing Company, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, and the Army Corps of Engineers. Our membership looks to lawmakers like Rep. Frame to work with labor unions and community partners, offer responsive solutions and legislation, and provide leadership on issues that are critical to working families.

Based on her demonstrated leadership and our union’s engagement with her, IFPTE strongly believes Noel Frame will carry her record of supporting good-paying union jobs and building a fair economy for all Washingtonians to the 36th District.
