IFPTE Joins Federal Postal Coalition to Endorse the Honoring Civil Servants Killed in the Line of Duty Act
IFPTE was one of 17 organizations signing a letter this week in support of HR 7376, The Civil Servants Killed in the Line of Duty Act. The legislation, which is sponsored by Virginia Congressman Gerry Connolly, raises the current $10,000 death gratuity for survivors of fallen federal workers to $100,000 and the funeral allowance from $800 to $8,800. In urging all House members to cosponsor the bill, the FPC letter states that, “the current payments are insufficient, and it is well past time they are increased.”
