IFPTE Joins Federal Workers Alliance Effort to Ensure Family Friendly Telework Reforms for DOD Employees Continue

This week, the Federal Workers Alliance (FWA) urged key Congressional lawmakers to continue federal telework policies that have allowed federal workers to support their agencies and military readiness while working from home and caring for ailing family members on an emergency basis.

IFPTE, a proud member of the FWA, helped to lead the FWA effort on telework reforms and signed the letter in response to Department of Defense’s back-to-worksite transition policy, which includes reverting back to traditional telework.

The letter, which was sent to the leaders of the committees overseeing federal worker and defense policy, asked lawmakers to, “reach out to OPM and urge them to change their normal telework policy to allow for federal employees on telework to care for a child or adult requiring care at home,” and that, “DOD employees have proven it worked during the pandemic and we have every reason to believe it will work well after the pandemic.”
