WASHINGTON, DC – The executive officers of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE) responded today to the sudden and tragic passing of IFPTE Local 195 President/Atlantic Council President Timothy Rudolph.

IFPTE President Matthew Biggs:

“The IFPTE family across North America mourns today with the Rudolph family on Tim’s sudden passing yesterday morning.  As a proud friend and Union Brother of Tim’s, I know firsthand what a generous and honorable man Tim was.  There is not a single time that Tim has ever said the word ‘no’ to any IFPTE Local, sister, or brother in need of his assistance.  Regardless of how big or small the issue was, Tim was always there.  He was also a fierce and unapologetic fighter for the members of Local 195.  His contributions to the IFPTE family will certainly sustain for decades to come.  We thank him; we miss him; we honor him; we mourn for him.”

IFPTE Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson:

“Brother Tim Rudolph was one of the first IFPTE leaders to welcome me personally and my entire Local to the IFPTE family when we affiliated back in 2009 and has been a friend and supporter ever since.  He and I both come from Tennessee, so we had that immediate connection in common, but it was his unwavering dedication to his members and the labor movement that cemented our strong friendship.  He is an IFPTE icon whose legacy will live on for many years to come.  We send our condolences to his family, his friends, and his Local 195 Brothers and Sisters.”

Former President Paul Shearon:

“Tim left us way too soon; however, we can’t be greedy. Tim was called by the God that he loved so much. We were lucky to have shared the time Tim had.   The Labor Community lost a mighty leader in Tim Rudolph. To me Tim’s passing came as a shock, the loss of a personal friend. Local 195 suffered the loss of a great leader, with huge shoes to fill. My heart goes out to Tim’s wife and family - bless you all.”

Brother Tim Rudolph served IFPTE Local 195 and the IFPTE International in many capacities over his career including twelve years as President of IFPTE Local 195, four years as the IFPTE Local 195 Vice President, thirteen years as the IFPTE Local 195 Trustee Chair, and nine years as the Bedminster Chapter President. Tim also served as IFPTE Atlantic Council President, Executive Board member of the New Jersey State AFL-CIO, Master Sergeant of Arms of IFPTE International, President of IFPTE Veterans Council, and IFPTE Local 195 Representative to the AFL-CIO National Veterans Council, to name a few.
