IFPTE Officers Meet with AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler

This week President Biggs and Secretary-Treasurer Henson were joined by Legislative Director Faraz Khan and Assistant to the Executive Officers, Brian Kildee for a meeting with AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler.  The intent of the meeting was to discuss the major legislative issues impacting IFPTE’s diverse membership, including but not limited to the labor movement’s continued support for federal investment in green nuclear energy technologies such as Small Modular Reactors, and the importance of restoring a Biden majority of the Federal Labor Relations Authority.

Biggs said that, “President Shuler has long been a strong supporter of IFPTE and our members, and those issues that are important to us, and she reinforced that support in our meeting,” while Secretary-Treasurer Henson noted that, “President Shuler and her team at the AFL-CIO clearly understand the technologies we are pushing and are strong supporters.”  IFPTE thanks President Shuler for her time to listen to IFPTE’s priorities.
