SOLIDARITY ALERT – IFPTE Joins with AFL-CIO and President Biden in Standing with Amazon Workers Seeking Union Representation

As Amazon workers in Bessemer, Alabama fight for union representation while sustaining a fierce intimidation and anti-union campaign being promulgated by Amazon, IFPTE is joining the chorus from around the world in solidarity and support with the Amazon workers.

IFPTE President Paul Shearon commented:

“It is appalling that a corporation worth upwards of 1 trillion dollars, and owned by the richest person on the face of the earth, is going to extraordinary lengths to intimidate and threaten their workers in order to prevent them from forming a union.  I suppose it is ok for Jeff Bezos to have more than $182 billion in wealth, but it is not ok for Amazon employees to band together as a union to collectively bargain for better wages, benefits and healthcare?  This is exactly why Congress must pass the PRO Act, so that billionaire bullies like Bezos can no longer use their wealth to frustrate union organizing drives.  The entire IFPTE family stands in SOLIDARITY with the Amazon workers and the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSA) in their quest to bring a union to the Bessemer facility.”
