SOLIDARITY ALERT – WAPSO Urges Support for Manitoba Hydro Workers
This week WAPSO/IFPTE Local 162 leadership and members joined in solidarity with members of IBEW Local 2034 as they seek a fair deal for their members employed by Manitoba Hydro, free from Pallister Government interference. For the past year these workers and their union have been on the front-lines risking their health while serving the public during the COVID-19 pandemic, including 35 days restoring power and ensuring citizen safety during Manitoba’s harshest ice storm in history. For that these workers now have to deal with interference into their contract negotiations by the notoriously anti-worker, anti-union Pallister Government.
