Women & COVID-19 (WSN Spotlight)

From leading figures in public health to women working on the front lines in grocery stores, nursing homes, women’s shelters, food banks, and other important services we all rely on during this global health crisis, women are on the front lines of this pandemic.

Earlier this year, the WSN committed to highlighting issues important to women through 'Features' in the Recap. IFPTE's Women’s Solidarity Network (WSN) has come across several noteworthy publications, statistics, articles and webinars and we wanted to share some of the interesting info we found! This Feature or spotlight highlights conversations on women's roles during this pandemic and the impact it's had on their lives.

The spotlight for this WSN Feature is a Canadian Labour Congress webinar that took place recently titled “Women, Work and COVID-19: Impact - Response - Recovery”. It is an excellent analysis on women’s social and economic situation in Canada during this pandemic. Watch the video here
