Rally for America’s Workforce: PAWA to the People, Washington D.C.

IFPTE is honored to cosponsor the Rally for America's Workforce: PAWA to the People on January 14th at 12 pm at Upper Senate Park in Washington, DC. The rally is in support of the Protect America’s Workforce Act (PAWA), a bill to undo President Trump’s union-busting Executive Orders 14251 and 14343 that has attempted to end collective bargaining for 85% of the unionized federal workforce. Please join us for the rally!

If enacted into law, PAWA would restore union protections for federal workers and require the Administration to honor collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) for the length of their stated terms. The bill passed the House on a bipartisan vote on December 11. We’re now urging the Senate to pass PAWA.

Please join us at Upper Senate Park in Washington, DC, on January 14 for PAWA for the People! Speakers include national union presidents, federal union local leaders, rank-and-file members, and Members of Congress.

Rally for America's Workforce: PAWA to the People

Background:

  • In March, the Trump Administration illegally ended collective-bargaining for 85% of the unionized federal workforce. Another Trump Administration executive order in August 2025 added ended collective bargaining rights for federal workers at several additional agencies. This amounted to more than 1 million workers losing union rights, making Trump the single biggest union buster in American history.

  • Protect America’s Workforce Act (PAWA) would restore union rights by voiding the March executive order and requiring the Administration to honor CBAs for the length of their stated terms.

  • PAWA passed the House on a bipartisan vote on 12/11. Rally for America’s Workforce is meant to urge Senate passage of PAWA.

Event Description:

  • Unions and allies will conduct a rally at the US Capitol, highlighting the need to pass PAWA, demonstrating public support for PAWA, and building public awareness of PAWA.

  • Speakers include members of Congress, national union presidents, and local union leaders. Flyers and signs will highlight the importance of unions and collective bargaining for ensuring justice, safety, affordability, and accountability.
