The Holidays Are Coming:
Make Your Mental Health a Priority

The holiday season is often described as a time of joy, celebration, and togetherness, but for many working professionals and their families, it can also bring increased stress, anxiety, and emotional exhaustion. For members of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE), balancing demanding workloads, workplace responsibilities, financial pressures, family obligations, and holiday expectations can feel overwhelming. The pressure to make the holidays perfect while continuing to meet professional and personal commitments can take a toll on mental health. It is important to recognize the signs of stress, including irritability, difficulty sleeping, feeling overwhelmed, withdrawing from others, or experiencing persistent anxiety. Give yourself permission to set boundaries, take breaks, ask for help, and remember that you do not have to do everything for everyone. Taking care of your mental health is not a luxury—it is essential to your overall well-being.

FHE HEALTH Is Here to Help. You do not have to navigate stress, anxiety, or other mental health challenges alone. FHE HEALTH is committed to supporting working men and women, union members, and their families through mental health and addiction treatment services. Whether you are struggling with holiday-related stress, ongoing anxiety, depression, or concerns about a loved one, reaching out for support can be an important first step toward feeling better. As we enter this holiday season, let us remember that caring for one another begins with recognizing when someone may be struggling and offering compassion without judgment. IFPTE members dedicate themselves to their professions, their workplaces, and their communities—you deserve that same level of care and support.
