IFPTE Endorses Suzan DelBene for Congress -- “Rep. DelBene is a trusted and proven supporter of Working Families”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, DC – On behalf of its 90,000 members throughout North America, the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE) is proud to endorse Congresswoman Suzan DelBene as she seeks re-election to represent Washington's 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.   IFPTE’s executive officers and key staff provided the following comments.

Matthew Biggs, IFPTE President:

Congresswoman DelBene has a long-established record of support for working families in Washington State and across the nation since she entered Congress in 2012.  Most importantly, she has fought for IFPTE members represented by Local 8A, Local 12, and SPEEA-Local 2001, and has a solid lifetime 96% AFL-CIO voter approval rating.  IFPTE is proud to endorse her.”

Gay Henson, IFPTE Secretary-Treasurer:

“IFPTE is honored to, once again, endorse Representative DelBene as she seeks her 7th term in the U.S. House.  She is an original cosponsor of the Protect America’s Workforce Act, the Richard L. Trumka PRO Act, and the Public Service Freedom to Negotiate Act.  She is a trusted and proven supporter of working families.”

Faraz Khan, IFPTE Legislative Director

“Rep. DelBene has been a clear advocate for good jobs and strong unions in Washington’s 1st District and throughout the state and the country. She’s supported modernizing Trade Adjustment Assistance, introduced legislation to expand union apprenticeships, led efforts to expand affordable childcare and educational opportunities, and advocated for laws and policies that make sure workers and their families have a path to the middle class. Rep. DelBene’s leadership on the issues that working people care about has earned her IFPTE’s endorsement for reelection.”

IFPTE represents 90,000 members across North America, including over 20,000 workers in Washington State.
