IFPTE Joins Coalition of Unions Asking Leader Schumer to Oppose "Extremist Nominees"

IFPTE asked labor allies to request that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer reject any agreement to move a package of “extremist nominees” and to block any attempt by the Trump Administration to make “recess appointments” without Senate approval while the Senate is on break in August.

The letter was prompted by President Trump’s public threat that the Senate either cancel the August break to rush through nominees or the President will resort to making recess appointments.

The letter simply asks the Senate Minority Leader to, “deny the majority the ability to use unanimous consent or recess action to advance any nominee, and make public your intent to do so.”
