Local 196 Members Join First Responders in Fighting New Jersey Wildfires

IFPTE Local 196 members employed by the Garden State Parkway joined New Jersey’s first responders this week in fighting back the massive wildfires that have burned 13,250 acres of land in Lacey and Ocean townships, and along the Garden State Parkway.

The wildfire started on Tuesday and is still burning. Local 196 President/Atlantic Area Vice President, Sean McBride, who along with Local 196 Business Manager, Jimmy Robertello, were also helping, commented:  “Despite their own homes being in danger, our proud Local 196 members who work along the Garden State Parkway are assisting the fire fighters, EMS, police and the public to help protect life and property during these trying times here in New Jersey.  I know that these members don’t want any credit, but I am here to thank them and tell them that their IFPTE family is proud of them and has their backs.  We will continue to assist as well until these raging wildfires are extinguished.”

A hearty note of thanks to the Local 196 members fighting the wildfires!
