Local 195 September Newsletter Focuses on Health Care, Union Members Rally in Trenton

IFPTE Local 195 issued their online membership newsletter this week. The newsletter, which is a monthly update on the issues impacting Local 195 members across New Jersey, informed members about the Local’s ongoing work to prevent steep increases in public sector health care premiums and services.

Among the highlights of the newsletter was an article about the Locals participation in a September 14th labor rally to protest potential huge cost shifts to worker healthcare coverage, including comments by Local 195 Business Manager/IFPTE Executive Vice President, Gerald Newsome, insisting that, “If New Jersey’s health insurance program needs to balance its books, it must not do so on the backs of the hard-working women and men in the public sector workforce.”

The newsletter also announced the three winners of the Local’s I-Pad raffle. Read the full newsletter here.
