IFPTE Applauds Robust Jobs Report and Biden Administration Efforts to Expand U.S. Manufacturing

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, DC – International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE) President Matthew Biggs and Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson issued the following joint statement in response to the release of the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ May jobs report, which shows 390,000 jobs created in the past month and signals the Biden Administration’s ongoing and successful economic plan to grow American manufacturing and domestic supply chains:

“The May jobs report’s finding that employers added 390,000 new jobs last month only confirms the historic job creation that has taken place over the last year.

This includes the all-important growth of good paying, union represented manufacturing jobs, a top priority of President Biden and his administration, and something IFPTE has been clamoring on behalf of for decades.

While IFPTE and our membership continue to be concerned with the rate of inflation and the challenges that this poses for workers, we are hopeful that this positive economic news, coupled with President Biden’s plan to build and grow our economy from the bottom up and the Federal Reserve’s efforts, will soon bring relief to our inflation problem.”
