IFPTE Attends AFL-CIO Reception in Honor of Outgoing Labor Secretary Marty Walsh

IFPTE officers, staff and Local leaders were honored this week to attend an AFL-CIO reception in honor of outgoing Labor Secretary, Marty Walsh. The reception was an opportunity for the American Labor Movement to come together and not only honor Secretary Walsh, but thank him for his steadfast leadership and support for working families.

IFPTE President Matt Biggs commented that, “Secretary Walsh is a union Brother through and through and took that union card with him to the Department of Labor. Under his leadership he was laser focused on ensuring that the DOL held employers accountable for worker violations of such things as wage theft, and illegally disrupting and busting union organizing drives. IFPTE thanks him and wishes him the best in all of his future endeavors.”
