IFPTE Endorses New Jersey Congressman Donald Norcross for Re-election
“IFPTE members in New Jersey and throughout the nation have had no better friend in Congress than our Union Brother, Congressman Donald Norcross”
WASHINGTON, DC – On behalf of its 90,000 members throughout North America, including more than 10,000 IFPTE members throughout New Jersey, IFPTE is proud to endorse Congressman Donald Norcross for a 7th term representing the First Congressional District of New Jersey.
The Union’s Executive Officers released the following statements of support.
IFPTE Atlantic Area Vice President/Local 196 President/New Jersey AFL-CIO Vice President Sean McBride: “IFPTE is honored and proud to stand hand-in-hand with Congressman Norcross as he seeks reelection to the House of Representatives this year. He has always been there for IFPTE members here in New Jersey and throughout all sectors of our membership. We are particularly appreciative of his leadership as the Co-Chair of the House Labor Caucus, and his championing the three top legislative priorities of IFPTE and the Labor movement overall – the Public Sector Freedom to Negotiate Act, the Protecting America’s Workforce Act, and the Protecting the Right to Organize Act - all bipartisan bills to protect organizing and collective bargaining. There is no doubt that IFPTE members in New Jersey and throughout the nation have had no better friend in Congress than our Union Brother, Congressman Donald Norcross.”
IFPTE Atlantic Area Vice President/Local 195 President Steve Pinto: “The wide and diverse membership of Local 195 has always had a friend in Donald Norcross, whether it is in his current role in Congress or as both a State Assembly member and State Senator. He is a Union Brother through and through and someone that our Union, and all of New Jersey’s working families need fighting for us on Capitol Hill. We at IFPTE are proud to support him.”
IFPTE Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson: “Congressman Norcross fights for all IFPTE’s members, both in New Jersey and throughout the United States. He is an unapologetic defender of collective bargaining rights on the hill, which is needed now more than ever, given the assaults that Unions have experienced under the current administration. IFPTE enthusiastically supports his candidacy.”
IFPTE President Matt Biggs: “Since he took the oath of office in 2014, Congressman Norcross has proven himself to be the labor movement’s number one supporter in the House of Representatives. IFPTE is particularly thankful for his leading the effort to repeal the Trump Administration’s union-busting and illegal executive orders that aim to strip well over one million federal employees of their constitutional right to collective bargaining. Whether it be his steadfast support for our members in New Jersey or our members in the federal and private sectors, he never hesitates to go to bat for IFPTE members when asked. IFPTE proudly endorses his candidacy.”
Congressman Norcross was first elected to Congress in 2014 in a special election to fill a seat vacated by Rob Andrews. He is seeking his 7th full term in the House of Representatives.
