FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, DC –The International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE), representing upwards of 90,000 workers across North America, including thousands of members in Washington State’s 7th Congressional District, are proud to endorse Pramila Jayapal to serve a 5th term in the U.S. House of Representatives. IFPTE executive officers provided the following comments in support of Congresswoman Jayapal.

IFPTE President Matthew Biggs:

“IFPTE members recognize Pramila Jayapal as a leading voice in Congress for advancing economic justice, upholding civil rights, and protecting democracy. In the Seventh Congressional District and throughout America, she has distinguished herself as a champion for all working people, students, retirees, children and the most vulnerable among us. Time and again, she has stood with IFPTE members whenever we’ve asked her to and has proven to be a steadfast ally for working families. We wholeheartedly support the Congresswoman as she seeks a fifth term in the House or Representatives.”

IFPTE Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson:

“Pramila Jayapal is a proven leader in Congress for advancing the interests of working people and workers’ rights. As chair of the Progressive Caucus, she provides a clear voice for renewing America’s promise to create a more just society for all working people. Congresswoman Jayapal has been a strong supporter of investing in infrastructure and manufacturing, creating good union jobs, and providing all Americans with health care and debt-free higher education. Through it all, she’s always kept her door open for our members at SPEEA-IFPTE Local 2001. We couldn’t be happier to endorse Congresswoman Jayapal.”

Across the United States and Canada, IFPTE represents 90,000 highly skilled workers in the federal, public, and private sectors. IFPTE is an affiliate of the AFL-CIO and the Canadian Labour Congress.
