International Workers’ Day Solidarity
Dozens of NPEU members joined the “For the Workers, Not the Billionaires” rally and picket on May Day in Washington, DC. Hannah Stephens, Vice President of Organizing at NPEU/IFPTE Local 70, spoke to the hundreds gathered on the need for solidarity between all trades, especially federal, service, and nonprofit workers, telling the crowd, “May Day reminds us of our collective power as workers and unionists. We can and will continue to build solidarity with other unions and stand up against the attacks from Trump, Elon, and all other union-busting bosses. I truly believe that together we can build a better world for all laborers.”
In Honolulu, the Hawaii State AFL-CIO held a silent march on May Day, with union non-federal members carrying signs and making their presence felt in solidarity with federal workers and union members. Some of the silent marchers carried signs with quotes from federal workers. See photos and videos on the Hawaii State AFL-CIO's Instagram
