Local 196 Delivers Big Contract Win for Long Branch Housing Authority Members

IFPTE Local 196-represented members employed by the Long Branch Housing Authority scored huge wins as a part of their recently completed contract negotiations.  Ten percent wage increases, preserving pension and health benefits, and achieving stronger safety measures for the members, were all achieved during the latest round of bargaining.

Local 196 President/Atlantic Area Vice President, Sean McBride, commented:  “It was a tough round of negotiations, but one that resulted in big wage increases, and one that recognized the dangers that our members face day-in and day-out working for the housing authority.  The raise and the protective measures negotiated were certainly long overdue.  Congratulations to all of the members for sticking together and for fighting for these wins.”

Local 196 organized these workers in 2020, and has continued to fight for them ever since.
