Secretary-Treasurer Henson is Guest on “Uncancellable with Dale Jackson” – Discusses Future of the TVA

IFPTE Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson was a guest this week on “Uncancellable with Dale Jackson”, a radio talk show in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to discuss the future of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) as the nation’s largest public utility. 

Henson, who served as president of the Engineering Association (EA/IFPTE Local 1937) representing 2,500 TVA workers for 17 years before being elected International Secretary-Treasurer, discussed many topics regarding TVA, including the addition of newly hired TVA CEO, Mike Skaggs. Said Henson, “we’re so proud to have him back…he can do what needs to be done.” Henson also discussed TVA’s transition towards new, emerging energy generating technologies, including small modular reactors and new big build nuclear plants.  Finally, Henson expressed IFPTE’s hope that the TVA board will soon transition CEO Skaggs from the current interim role to being the permanent CEO.
