Ames Federal Employees Union Holds Annual Membership Meeting

Ames Federal Employees Union (AFEU/IFPTE Local 30) members employed at the NASA Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, California, recently gathered for the Local’s annual membership meeting.  The luncheon meeting, chaired by AFEU President, Jonas Dino, featured a legislative presentation from International Legislative Director, Faraz Khan, and a legal update from General Counsel, Teresa Ellis - both focused on IFPTE’s ongoing efforts to repeal and challenge the Trump Administration’s August 28, 2026 executive order stripping NASA workers of their collective bargaining rights.

President Dino commented on the meeting, saying that “AFEU has been very active over many years in the legislative arena, and we have only ramped up our legislative efforts in light of the Union-busting that has impacted NASA workers across the nation, including Local 30 members. We thank the International for updating our membership on the legal and legislative landscape, and we will continue to fight tirelessly for the rights of our workforce and advocate for NASA and our sisters and brothers in the federal government.”

IFPTE President, Matt Biggs, and Secretary-Treasurer, Gay Henson, also addressed the Local 30 members.
