IFPTE Honors Longtime Local 200/200A President, Brother Michael Calleo, Upon His Retirement

Brother Michael Calleo, longtime Local 200/200A President, as well as President of IFPTE’s Atlantic Council, notified the International in April of his retirement as Local and Atlantic Council president. Calleo’s retirement comes after both representing the New Jersey Turnpike supervisors as president and as a turnpike supervisor for decades.
IFPTE International President, Matt Biggs, who has worked closely with Brother Calleo since 2001, called him, “one of IFPTE’s longest serving and most dedicated leaders…we thank him for his service to the membership and his commitment to the IFPTE family broadly.” Secretary-Treasurer, Gay Henson, said that “we will certainly miss Brother Calleo and wish he and his family nothing the best in retirement.”
IFPTE’s Atlantic Area Vice Presidents also expressed gratitude to Brother Calleo: Sean McBride (IFPTE Local 196 President/Atlantic Area Vice President/New Jersey AFL-CIO Vice President) – “Local 200/200a’s offices are in Local 196’s office building and our members certainly cross paths regularly. We are Atlantic Council and IFPTE union brothers, so Mike and I have worked very closely together for many years. He dedicated his time, energy and efforts to the betterment of his members, and served IFPTE throughout New Jersey as Vice President and President of the Atlantic Council. We thank him and wish him well in retirement.,” Steve Pinto (IFPTE Local 195 President/Atlantic Area Vice President) – “All the members of Local 195 and IFPTE members across our State offer a hearty note of gratitude to Mike Calleo for his exemplary service to all of us. We will miss him and extend to him our best wishes in his well-deserved retirement.”
