IFPTE Attends Biannual AFL-CIO Executive Council Meeting
President Matt Biggs and Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson participated in the biannual AFL-CIO Executive Council meeting this week at the AFL-CIO headquarters in Washington, DC. Among the many issues discussed and addressed at the meeting are the Labor Movement’s efforts to combat the attacks on federal employees and their Unions by the Trump Administration, the success in organizing among America’s labor unions, and budgetary items that ensure that America’s labor movement has adequate resources to organize the unorganized and fight against Union-busting.
IFPTE, a proud affiliate of the AFL-CIO and holding a seat on the Executive Council, informed Executive Council members about the International’s continued legal and legislative efforts geared towards blocking the Trump Administration’s Union-busting, as well as ideas to pass legislation to bring fairness to organizing private sector workers.
