IFPTE Honours National Truth and Reconciliation Day

Today, September 30, 2026, IFPTE recognizes Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the annual national holiday committed to memorializing the victims and survivors of the Canadian Indian Residential School system, whose purpose was to strip Indigenous peoples of their cultures, identities, languages, and ways of life.

On this fifth anniversary of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, IFPTE members across North America honour residential school survivors, their families and communities, and those who never returned home.
