IFPTE Participates in Bipartisan Congressional Federal Workforce Caucus Panel Discussion
IFPTE was one of four Unions invited to participate in the inaugural event of the Congressional Federal Workforce Caucus this week on Capitol Hill.
The discussion, chaired by Virginia Congressman James Walkinshaw, was an opportunity for federal unions and lawmakers to look past the current administration with an eye toward rebuilding the federal workforce now and well into the future.
In addition to IFPTE President Matt Biggs and Legislative/Political Director Faraz Khan, AFGE President, Dr. Everett Kelley; NFFE President, Randy Erwin, and; NTEU President, Dorreen Greenwald, participated in the panel discussion with Representatives James Walkinshaw (D-VA, 11); Eugene Vindman (D, VA-7); April McClain Delaney (D, MD-6); Rashida Tlaib (D, MI-12); Stephen Lynch (D, MA-8); and the staff for Representatives Emily Randall (D, WA-6); Mike Lawler (R, N&-17), and Greg Landsman (D-OH-1).

Issues discussed included protecting collective bargaining across the federal sector; combatting the administration Schedule P/C rule designating tens of thousands of federal workers as ‘at-will’ employees; ensuring whistleblower protections for federal employees; ensuring RIF protections, and responding to other damaging OPM regulations.
